The victim care standards have been developed from research which shows that victims can have multiple needs as a result of being a victim of crime. These needs are met in a number of ways by victim service providers. Although victims often don’t know what they need and can’t articulate how support should be provided, research identifies some of the important factors for victims. Using this research and our many years experience of working with victims of crime, we have developed 5 standards which are critical to quality victim care.
