Kathleen O’Hara is an international victim services specialist, psychotherapist and author of A Grief Like No Other, surviving the violent death of someone you love, a classic resource on traumatic bereavement.
She is a consultant for the Federal Office of Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center in the US Department of Justice. She has delivered keynote speeches, workshops and training on victims’ issues in the United States, Europe, Russia and Canada.
She has developed innovative training programs and has helped shape policy for criminal justice practitioners, service organisations and social workers. In addition, she has created new approaches to Compassion Fatigue and Mindfulness for various organisations, including the Motor Neurone Disease Association in the UK.
She is an excellent, dynamic and innovative speaker and trainer, having both the experience of a victim of crime and extensive professional expertise. She now resides in the UK where she continues her work with victims of crime and those who serve them. She holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology
